Black Stainless Steel Stair Handrail with Custom Bracket Spacing

This recent customer installation is a great example of one of the advantages of having a handrail made specifically for your staircase rather than relying on fixed, standard bracket positions.

The customer chose our black stainless steel handrail with satin stainless steel brackets, creating a strong contrast against the light grey walls and white staircase.

For this particular installation, the bracket positions needed a little extra consideration. Rather than using standard equal spacing, we positioned the brackets to suit both the newel post at the top of the staircase and the available wall studs along the stair flight.

Custom Bracket Positions to Suit the Staircase

When fixing a wall-mounted handrail to a stud wall, locating the brackets directly into the timber structure can provide a much more secure fixing than relying solely on the plasterboard.

Because our handrails are prepared to order, we can alter the bracket positions before manufacture where required.

On this installation, the first bracket was positioned to fix neatly into the newel post, while the remaining brackets were spaced to correspond with the wall studs.

The result is a secure installation without compromising the clean, balanced appearance of the finished handrail.

Made to Measure and Ready to Install

The handrail was manufactured to the customer's dimensions, with the connection points prepared before dispatch.

This means there is no cutting or drilling of the handrail required on site. Once the fixing positions have been established, the system is designed to assemble straightforwardly using the supplied components.

The black handrail combined with the satin stainless steel brackets and end details works particularly well in this staircase, complementing the black mirrors and decorative wall panels elsewhere in the hallway.
